This Vivaldi opera has only been performed in the UK only once in modern times, at the Buxton Festival in 1982. In that performance the two roles that Vivaldi originally wrote for castrati were sung by sopranos en travesti. For our concert performance we have cast counter-tenors with high registers to sing the two castrato roles of Ottone and Roberto
